The Psychometric Society has announced that its 17th International Meeting will take place at the Hong Kong Institute of Education from the July 19 to July 22, 2011.
The announcement follows the success of the 16th International Meeting of the Psychometric Society, hosted by the University of Cambridge Psychometrics Centre at St John's College Cambridge in 2009.
The meeting in Hong Kong will be co-hosted by the Psychometric Society and the Assessment Research Centre at the Hong Kong Institute of Education, under the leadership of Professor Wang Wen Chung, which has an enviable record in promoting psychometrics not only in China, but throughout the whole Asia Pacific region.
Meanwhile the Hong Kong Institute of Education was established in 1994 with a heritage of 70 years of teacher training dating to the former colleges of education. It is the only University Grants Committee funded institution dedicated solely to professional teacher education in Hong Kong.
The Psychometric Society is an international non-profit professional organisation devoted to the advancement of psychometric testing and quantitative measurement practices in psychology, education and the social sciences.
